Elizabeth Eberle is the new volunteer Event Coordinator for the Indianapolis-based children’s charity Flight1. Elizabeth will take charge of planning and logistics for Community Day 2014.
“Elizabeth was instrumental in the preparations for our first Community Day celebration in July of this year,” says Flight1 founder Marcus Strawhorn. “She’s a great organizer and did a super job helping us make it such a success. We’re pleased to know the planning for next year’s event will be in such good hands.”
Elizabeth has a background in biology and moved to Indiana from San Diego in 1997. An Operational Manager at Covance Laboratories in Greenfield, she finds her work in research rewarding because it positively affects patients’ lives. She says volunteering to help Flight1’s Courageous Fliers build their confidence proved to be a perfect fit.
“My husband Rich shares Marcus’ love of flight,” Elizabeth explains. “When Marcus started Flight1 we wanted not only to support his dream but also to help further a great cause.”
Volunteers like Elizabeth are helping Flight1 make a profound difference in the lives of Indiana children who face medical challenges or have lost a loved one to illness.
