Russell Goutierez has joined Flight1 as Editor of Online Content. For an avid writer with a deep passion for aviation, the volunteer opportunity seemed tailor-made. “When I learned about Flight1’s mission, I knew I had to pitch in and help,” Russell says. “Aviation has been a remarkable part of my own life, so Marcus’ approach of using it to bring joy and confidence to children made perfect sense to me. The fact that our activities help kids through difficult times in their lives makes being a part of Flight1 that much more rewarding.”
Russell is a former airline professional whose writing and photography has appeared in several publications and the book Silverbird: The American Airlines Story. He moderates a LinkedIn group for Transportation Special Assistance Team members and writes online for causes such as Safe Seats for Every Air Traveler. Along with volunteering his creative skills, Russell sponsors a Courageous Flier through Flight1’s “100 for $100” program.
