The Hippocratic Oath is an oath historically taken by physicians, physician assistants’ and other healthcare professionals swearing to practice medicine ethically and honestly. The modern version of the oath includes the following line:
[blockquote author=””]… I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon’s knife or the chemist’s drug.[/blockquote]It was in this spirit that Southside Pediatric, Inc. joined in the mission of Flight1. On May 7th, our first Facebook challenge was announced. Southside Pediatrics, Inc. would contribute $5 for every Facebook ‘Like’ that was received over the next two weeks, through May 21st.
As a result of this two-week challenge, Flight1:
• viewership grew from 50 people to 1300 people
• following grew by 40%
• gained financial support to meet the challenge, resulting in sponsorship of two children in the Courageous Fliers program.
