What We Do
Flight1 is an Indianapolis based 501(c)(3) charity that was created in 2011. Driven by the passion of our 20+ volunteers, and the support of the local community, our commitment is focused on programming that has a measurable positive impact on the well-being of the children we serve. The story of Flight1 unknowingly began in 1991 when our founder, Marcus Strawhorn, at the age of 15 said for the first time, “I’ve got the plane,”. But it wasn’t until 2010 when Marcus heard from a doctor, “I’m afraid you may have a rare cancer called Carcinoid Syndrome” that the plans for Flight1 were put in place. Read the full story.
